Autism Spectrum Disorder Assessments
The detection of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) at as early an age as possible cannot be understated. Specific assessment techniques and tools are now available to trained professionals to detect this disorder in toddlerhood. Our clinicians are trained in the administration of the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS), the gold-seal measure to aid this difficult diagnostic decision, as well as the Autism Diagnostic Interview-Revised (ADI-R), which enables the clinician to determine whether or not specific social developmental milestones have been attained. Typically, assessment of ASD require the same amount of time to administer, however, achievement and other neurological measures are substituted with the above mentioned measures, as well as other tools to gain insight into the child’s perspective taking and facial expression recognition capabilities.
