Barbara is a Registered Psychologist and a member of the Psychologists’ Association of Alberta. She earned her psychology degree from the Federal University of Reconcavo of Bahia in Brazil and a master’s in counselling from the City University of Seattle. Her professional background includes working with at-risk children and youth, university students, and seniors with cognitive decline in Brazil.
In Canada, Barbara has worked extensively with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder and co-occurring conditions such as anxiety, depression, and ADHD. She completed her practicum at Rocky Mountain Psychological Services and New Heights School, where she supported children, teens, and adults with executive functioning challenges and facilitated anxiety groups for teens with ASD.
Currently, Barbara supports pre-teens, teens, young adults, and adults navigating life transitions. Her work includes addressing challenges such as anxiety, depression, and self-harm. She takes a strength-based approach and draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to empower clients and help them reach their full potential.
