Registered psychologist, Jody Caswell, obtained her Master of Education in Counselling Psychology from the University of Lethbridge. Jody has conducted hundreds of comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations; she is driven by the philosophy that individuals are most accurately conceptualized when factors outside of what their standardized scores represent are considered.

Jody’s particular approach focuses more specifically on the client’s testing behaviours and intricacies as they take on the various subtests that comprise a thorough evaluation. Her clinical analysis helps to detect nuanced presentations of attention-deficit/hyperactivity, autism spectrum, giftedness, and learning challenges. Additionally, Jody is trained in career assessment and counselling which can be a crucial aspect in the assessment of teenagers and young adults wishing to enhance their understanding of fields and careers which might work best. All the while accounting for their learning style and academic profile in the planning process. Jody has extensive experience working with and considerable understanding of postsecondary training along with the resources and accommodations which may support goal attainment.

As a trained therapist Jody utilizes a combination of cognitive-behavioural (CBT) and solution-focused approaches that include gaining the client’s participation in goal setting, monitoring, and evaluation of outcomes. Jody has crisis intervention training in her background. She has successfully guided families and their children through times which felt insurmountable and gone beyond the more typical therapeutic situation.

Jody is the mother of a child presenting with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, this provides Jodywith a certain compassion and understanding that parents of neurodiverse children tend to appreciate.It has given Jody firsthand knowledge of available resources along with tried and tested strategieswhich give her deeper insight into the experiences of her clientele.
