Career & Educational Support
Making decisions about careers and post-secondary education can feel overwhelming for both students and their families. The pressure to “get it right” can lead to uncertainty, stress, and indecision. At Moroz Child Psychology Group, we understand that every individual’s path is unique, and our goal is to empower students and young adults to make informed, confident choices about their future.
Our Career and Educational Support services are designed for high school students and young adults who are exploring their post-secondary and career options. We combine formal assessments, personal reflection, and collaborative planning to help clients clarify their interests, strengths, values, and goals, ultimately guiding them toward choices that align with both their personal fulfillment and practical realities.
Our Process
Career exploration is not a one-size-fits-all journey, and our approach reflects this. We typically work with clients across an average of four sessions, though this may vary depending on individual needs.
Key Steps Include:
- Exploration of Personal Strengths & Interests: We begin by getting to know the individual, exploring their personal strengths, skills, hobbies, and work preferences. This helps clients better understand what truly motivates and excites them.
- Formal Career Assessments: We utilize standardized career interest and aptitude assessments, alongside discussion-based exploration, to identify potential career paths that align with the individual’s profile. These assessments help reveal lesser-known fields that might align with a client’s strengths and interests.
- Clarifying Values & Lifestyle Goals: We work with clients to reflect on their values, work-life balance preferences, and long-term aspirations, ensuring that career goals align not only with abilities but also with personal fulfillment.
- Post-Secondary Planning: We help students navigate their post-secondary options, including program research, application processes, and understanding admission requirements. We also discuss backup options and alternative pathways when appropriate.
- Practical Considerations: We address financial realities, scholarship opportunities, and the potential time investment associated with different career paths, helping clients feel more prepared for both short-term and long-term decisions.
Parent Involvement
We recognize that parents often play an important role in supporting their child’s career decisions, and we welcome family involvement as part of the process when appropriate.
Our Goal
Our goal is to help individuals feel confident and excited about their future, armed with a realistic, well-informed plan that reflects their personal strengths and values. Whether a student is struggling to choose a career path, feeling pressure to make the “right” decision, or simply needing clarity on next steps, we are here to offer the tools and guidance to create a path forward with confidence.
