Pyschoeducational Assessment
Families often come to us seeking answers - wondering why their child is struggling and what can be done to support their growth.
At Moroz Child Psychology Group, we understand that every child is unique, and so is the path to understanding their needs. Our assessments are not about assigning a label; they are about uncovering the full picture of your child’s strengths and challenges, so we can unlock their potential and equip families with clear, practical solutions.
What Makes Our Assessments Different
- Curiosity-Driven, Child-Focused Approach: We begin every assessment with an open mind. We do not go in asking “Is this ADHD?” or “Is this Autism?”—we go in asking, “Why is this child struggling?” We work to answer that question in a comprehensive way, considering all possibilities.
- Maximizing Your Child’s Potential: We understand that parents want their child’s abilities accurately reflected. Our psychologists specialize in creating a testing environment that brings out the best in every child. We ensure that our IQ testing and academic evaluations reflect your child’s true capabilities.
- Comprehensive Testing—Beyond Rating Scales: Unlike many clinics that rely heavily on checklists and rating scales, our assessments are more comprehensive. While we may use rating scales as a small part of our evaluation, we emphasize objective, hands-on testing and in-depth interviews.
- Attention & Executive Functioning: We administer specialized tests beyond standard IQ and academic measures tevaluate sustained attention, impulse control, cognitive flexibility, working memory (both auditory and visual), and other executive functions.
- Emotional & Behavioral Concerns: For anxiety, depression, and emotional regulation, we conduct standardized clinical interviews led by our highly trained psychologists. These interviews provide far richer and more accurate information than rating scales alone.
- Social Development & Autism Spectrum: We are recognized for our expertise in early detection of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). We utilize gold-standard tools, including the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2) and Autism Diagnostic Interview-Revised (ADI-R). In addition, we administer neuropsychological tests that assess Theory of Mind, perspective-taking, subtle emotional cues, and social reciprocity. We also ask deeper questions that uncover social nuances beyond what can be observed in a brief appointment.
- Reading & Learning Disabilities: We don’t stop at identifying a reading or writing problem. We go further, examining the underlying processes involved in literacy. This includes evaluating phonological processing (the ability to hear and manipulate sounds), sound-symbol recognition, and analyzing the types of comprehension questions where errors occur. Our goal is to pinpoint the specific cognitive hurdles interfering with your child’s learning.
- Real-World Observations: We observe children beyond our office walls whenever possible—in classrooms, daycares, or recess settings. These real-life observations often reveal things that testing alone cannot.
- Teacher & School Collaboration: We believe an assessment is only as valuable as its impact in your child’s daily environment. We work with teachers not only to gather insight during the assessment but also to ensure our recommended strategies are practical and classroom-ready. When appropriate, we also follow up directly with school personnel to help guide the real-world implementation of these strategies, ensuring the report translates into meaningful support.
- No Hidden Fees—All-Inclusive Assessments: We understand that parents want clear answers, not confusing add-ons. That’s why our assessments are designed to fully answer the referral question within the standard time frame. Whether we need to explore ADHD, Autism, anxiety, learning disabilities, or other concerns, we conduct the appropriate tests without asking you to pay more. In some cases, such as retesting or follow-up evaluations, a reduced testing schedule may be appropriate.

- Teacher Consultation: We contact educators when needed to obtain a full picture and work toward classroom-specific solutions.
- Feedback Meeting: We discuss the results, explain your child’s strengths and challenges, and provide clear, customized strategies for home and school. When appropriate, we follow up with school personnel to ensure these strategies are applied in the classroom.
